On this tour you will combine the train and hike trip where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery along the first day and visit Machu Picchu on the second day.

The Inca Trail has different routes. The most requested is the 45 km (most operators do it in 4 days / 3 nights) that starts in Piscacucho (km 82), near Ollantaytambo, which is reached by train or bus. From this point begins the walk through the creek of the Cusichaca River to the heights of the town of Huayllambamba. Then climb up to the Huarmihuañusca pass (at 4,200 masl), considered the highest point of the entire road. In this section we also visit the circular ruins of Runkuracay, as well as an impressive Inca tunnel carved in rock to a pass where you can see snowy mountains such as Salkantay and Veronica until you reach Puyupatamarca (city of clouds), the most impressive Inca complex of the journey. Finally, you will go through a cloud forest with a diversity of flora and fauna until you reach the 50 steps that lead to the Intipunku (gateway to the sun or entrance to Machu Picchu).

First day: Cusco, Wiñayhuayna and Aguas Calientes

At 5:30 am, we will pick you up at the hotel and then drive you to the train station in Ollantaytambo, where we will board the train to km 104. We will start our journey visiting the archaeological complex of Chachabamba (2,250 masl),. We will ascend towards Wiñayhuayna, this journey is quite interesting because it has a diversity of fauna and flora such as orchids, ferns, etc. After a short break we will continue towards Inti Punku or Puerta del Sol (2,490 masl), this point is an excellent place from where you can take panoramic photographs of the citadel of Machu Picchu and surrounding landscapes.

In the afternoon we will descend to Aguas Calientes or Machu Picchu town where we will spend the night.

Second day: Aguas Calientes, Machu Picchu and Cusco.
